- Rules
The Jameson Sunday Race will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020.
- Entries
Competitors may enter by submitting their name, boat type, sail number and elapsed time to be scored.
- 3. Notices to Competitors
The course will be posted on Facebook and on the door 1 hour prior to the start of the race. Once a course is posted no course changes will be made. You must sign in before racing and post your score on vuduwave.com/lmsa out after racing. Entering your score will constitute signing out.
Notices to competitors will be posted on the official notice board located at the East door of the LMSA club house one hour before the start of the race. The Fleet Captain will usually notice the start time of the race 48 hours prior, depending of the forecast.
- Signals Made Ashore
Signals made ashore will be displayed from the flagpole located at the LMSA club house.
- Start Time
The start time for competitor of the Jameson Sunday Race is a 5 minute start window. See FlaLMSA.org calendar for official start time. *Calendar start time may vary from month to month so monitor the website calendar for the board assigned start window.
5.1 Competitors that start early or are over late will be scored DSQ.
- Racing Area
The racing area will be Lake Monroe in Sanford Florida.
- Courses and Marks
Please check the course at the club house.
- Starting and Finishing Lines
The starting and finishing lines will be between the Old River Ship Romance PVC poles (or their substitutes in the same location). For the start competitors go between the two PVC River Ship Romance Marks. The West PVC Pole with the flag should be on the Port side of the boat at the start. The Finish will be through the PVC Romance Marks this time with the West PVC Pole with the flag on the Starboard side of the boat.
- Time Limit
There is no time limit to the Jameson Sunday Race, but you are required turn in your time on the sign in/sign out sheet or by texting it to the club phone number.
- Scoring
You must sign in before racing and post your score on vuduwave.com/lmsa out after racing. Entering your score will constitute signing out. Sign-out as soon as possible upon your return to the dock. It is your responsibility to sign out or you will not be scored. With your smartphone, open your browser and go to vuduwave.com/lmsa and find your skipper/boat name and enter your time (ex: 1.04.25 or 48.14 or DNF).
All times will be calculated using to boats Portsmouth Rating for a corrected time. Fastest corrected time is the winner of the race.
- Prizes
Placing will be announced and a token will be pulled from the bin and the number on the token correlates to the place everyone finished. Prizes may vary throughout the year.
- Disclaimer of Liability
Competitors participate in the Jameson Sunday Race entirely at their own risk. See Rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the Jameson Sunday Race.
13 . Rule changes as of 6-9-2021
- Non-members are encouraged to join our Wednesday Goslings and Sunday Jameson races and post race antics, but will not be eligible to win bottle prizes or fleet winner stickers.
- Non-member boats will not be scored with the member boats.
- We are returning to the normal “must be present to win” rule for awards. That means a crew member or skipper must be present at the prize drawing to receive a prize.
